All guests should be dressed for mess in old clothes they no longer care about. All paint is non-toxic, but paint may not come out of clothes. ![]() Guests are happy to wear a provided shirt but typically doesn’t help to protect clothing underneath. Staff will provide eye protection for guests as needed and explain some of the fun tools they will use to splatter paint with. Staff will help guests place hands-on canvases and quickly put a coat of white paint on them. The studio is Art decorated, but you are welcome to bring your own party decorations.Īs guests arrive they will begin to prep their canvas by writing their name on the back & tracing their hand on plastic. The host may arrive 15 mins prior to the party for the setup of food cutlery etc. Please suggest to your guests to bring a change of clothing. Your Splatter Party Dip a palette knife into paint and then apply paint to fabric. Blend colors to create petals that are realistic. Stroke paint onto fabric with a fine paintbrush, in a flower outline. Dab paint onto fabric to create an abstract flower. Dip the end of a paintbrush handle or the eraser on a pencil into paint. Firmly press stamp onto fabric, the lift up to reveal flower. Sponge paint inside the stencil outlines. Here are some of my favorites, with the steps to make them. Painting flowers on fabric can be done in a variety of ways.Slinging splatter paint shoes (photo found at: Sketch 42) Clean-up will be easy, since most acrylic fabric paints are water-soluble and can be washed away with soap and water while wet.But if you are splatter painting a small canvas shoe, you might choose a stiff toothbrush. For example if you are splatter painting a large wall canvas, you might choose a large brush. Choose a brush that is relative to the size of you project. Brushes can range from as small as a toothbrush, to as large as a scrub brush or brush for house painting.The only splatter painting tools you will need are your favorite acrylic fabric paints, gloves (which are an option), a stick (or the handle of another paintbrush), and brushes with very stiff bristles.Wear an apron or clothes that can be soiled, since you never know where the paint will end up! Cover the work area with disposable paper or plastic, or work outside where you can wash away excess paint.
